Artist(s) in Woodstock
Exhibitions
When I started painting, sharing a venue with other local artists for Oxfordshire Artweeks became a mission, resulting in Artists in Woodstock. Three years later, we’ve exhibited to 250k visitors at Blenheim Palace, turned Woodstock into a giant art gallery for Artweeks, and I’ve curated the art in local chi chi hotel The Feathers (doing things by halves is not my style!).
The Feathers
The Feathers, Woodstock, underwent a total transformation in 2024, from fusty to fabulous. The gallery wall (curated by yours truly) features work for sale to visitors. I also advised on art to appear throughout the hotel, which has been purchased by the hotel. My dancers welcome ladies to the ladies.
Blenheim Palace Past & Present
How lucky to have Blenheim Palace on my doorstep. It’s not just an inspiration for local artists, it also has an incredible display space, at The Stables. Artists In Woodstock held a 4 month exhibition, on the theme of ‘Past & Present’ in 2023.
Artweeks
Organising and participating in Oxfordshire Artweeks twice, we’ve created an innovative approach, taking over the town’s windows, and created a whole theme - Art, Mind & Soul - with events like arty pilates and mandala making by the Blenheim Lake.
It’s a joy to be part of the Artists in Woodstock to do this, and using my marketing skills helps to get us noticed.
Darl-e & the Bear
Woodstock gallery Darl-e & the Bear hosted 4 members of Artists in Woodstock in May 2024. With Rod Craig, MM Plumm and Sarah Moncrieff, I was in good company. My painting journey was inspired by Darl-e & the Bear. A Phillipa Paterson painting had caught my eye in the gallery, and was almost requested as my present. But instead I told my husband that I’d love the gift of painting lessons, and that ‘one day maybe I will be on the gallery’s walls.’ And two years later … I was!
Art on Conflict
The Soldiers of Oxfordshire museum is based on Woodstock. In Autumn 2024 my work featured in an exhibition exploring Art on Conflict. My own take was to bring some colour and glamour into what can be a very dark subject.
